1947 ML Canadian Dime. When India was granted their independence it created a problem for the mint in Canada.
The obverse coinage with “ET IND: IMP” removed showing that the King was no longer the Emperor of India would not arrive for some time.
For the beginning of 1948 mintage, a Maple Leaf was added after the 1947 date to signify the new coins until the new dies arrived.
