An almost uncirculated 1947 Dot Silver Canadian Quarter. This coin has lots of toning but could be an excellent addition to your collection.
India’s independence created a problem for the Royal Canadian Mint. While they were waiting for the new
obverse design to arrive, they decided to produce coins in 1948 with the date 1947 and added a small dot after the date.
They soon decided that the dot was not big enough and instead added a slightly larger maple leaf.
This Quarter features George VI on the front and the Caribou head designed by Emanuel Hahn on the reverse.
The designer of the obverse was T. H. Paget.
The coin has a composition of .800 silver and .200 copper.
