Very Nice 1917S United States Buffalo/Indian Head Nickel

Known as Buffalo or Indian Head Nickel issued from 1913 to 1938.
James Earle Fraser designed this nickel, employing three different Native Americans as models.
The bison was supposedly modeled after “Black Diamond” in the New York Central Park Zoo.
Mintage 4,193,000, Composition .750 copper, .250 nickel.
This one was minted in San Francisco and marked by the ‘S’.
Classed in Fine condition.
